Serial (some would say about their daily emails:"irritating") email marketers Neiman-Marcus sent out this email featuring an animated gif. They seem to have forgotten two key points:
- That Outlook 2007 (the one I'm using to read this particular email) doesn't allow animated gifs to be, well, animated.
- If you do use an animated gif, then the best plan is to ensure that the first frame is actually what you want those without animation to see. In other words, your key message.
What they produced was the above image featuring just the words "Are you", instead of the last frame which had the words "Who are you? Introducing Style Radar".If you'd like some tips on creating animated gif's in Photoshop, you should take a visit to Style Campaign's Youtube channel
