Slightly strange email received yesterday from John Lewis. I'm not sure whether it was a system error or whether they are tracking me.The main content is "Thanks for your interest". The only way I've interacted recently with JL is to look at a set of speakers they had on one of their last emails. I clicked on the item, but didn't add it to the basket. So did they see I was interested and then contacted me to let me know that they knew? Personally I'd have though this would seem quite a heavy-handed way to handle email clicks. I can imagine they have a huge email list and it would again be a large list of follow up emails to send out if they sent an email to every person who clicked through to an item . Did they want to remind me and let me know I had looked at the item? It would have been within 24 hours, the ideal window for abandoned baskets etc. What are your thoughts?
